Q:
Do you have an open door policy?
A:
Certainly....Parents may visit any time. There are phones in every
room, parents may call as often as they like also. |
| 2. |
Q:
What is your sick-child policy?
A:
We work closely with the parents each morning. If an infant is
cutting teeth or has had immunizations, a fever is expected and the
child is not contagious. However, any child who is ill, of course
cannot come to daycare. |

Q:
What is your discipline policy?
A:
We believe that bored children are bad children. We have qualified
staff trained to know the needs of each child whether he or she is
two or ten. The child is redirected and encouraged to workout their
frustration in the correct manner. |

Q:
What is the turnover with your staff?
A:
We do not have turnover. We believe that the child deserves the same
faces each day, therefore we employ caregivers who are kid people.
All of the staff have goals to be teachers, nurses or pursue a
career that involves children. We also have grandmothers and moms
who bring that expertise to the job. We believe that the staff is
our best asset. |

Q:
What curriculum do you use?
A:
Our childcare has a carefully designed lesson plan for each age. The
infants through our kindergarten class have professionally prepared
schedules including physical activity, group time, lots of reading
to the children, science, math and art time. Dramatic play, blocks
and all age appropriate toys that will encourage and stimulate the
child's development. |

Q:
What about the meals served?
A:
We follow the State of Michigan Food Program Guidelines to ensure
the child is receiving all the nutrients they need for their age. We
serve family style meals served by our "Grandpa" who makes
the bestest of everything (According to a three year old picky
eater). |

Q:
How do you market your center?
A:
We don't...our parents do it for us. All the parents whose children
attend The Lighthouse Learning Center are going to a job or a
class....they tell others and even after their child is gone, we
still get recommendations. |
