Our
Philosophy:
Kindergarten is the year during which children learn what it means
to "go to school." In part, this means that they
learn social skills, such as taking turns, waiting to speak until
called upon, and working and playing cooperatively with fellow
students. Kindergarten is an extra ordinary opportunity to
engage children when they are young, eager and curious, and when
their minds are absorbing knowledge like sponges. It is also a
time to challenge them by setting reasonable goals and helping them
achieve those goals as they develop habits of attention and effort
that will stand them in good stead throughout life. When the
children enter school we want them to be respected and recognized as
unique individuals. We want their particular gifts to be
nurtured, we want their weakness to be treated with gentleness and
encouragement in hopes of turning them, with time and effort into
strengths.
